there exists a heaven within heaven. Impossible you say, but I beg to differ. On Sunday, we went to the Fairfax Trading Post. I had been to this awesome, little fair a few times when I lived in LA and absolutely missed it since I moved home. And my, oh my has it grown. It used to be confined just the corner parking lot of Fairfax High School, but now spills over into 2 more new “wings” with aisles and aisles of glorious vintage knick knacks, jewelry, beads, artwork, furniture, clothes, etc, etc.
Shane and I drooled over all the cool antique armoires, frames and doo dads. I was soooooo inspired to redecorate the store, or maybe just open up another one so I can have a new place to “do-up”. Hahaha. Why doesn’t Hawaii have anything like this? And for cheap please? If anyone out there knows, please share!!

Whoopsie, I forgot to bring my cash. Thanks zazzee!

Amongest the "sea of shoes" . . . .

. . . I spy a rad pair of woven oxfords. Mine.

I fell in love with one particular booth that had all these beautiful petticoats in soft sherberty colors. They dangled and swayed in the wind like a dream. I wish I could have shot a bamboo sky fashion photo shoot here or just moved in a bed and stove and lived there.

This sign is pure genius

True story! Terence spocked my sweater's long lost sister in one of the racks. I said, "If it has a Contempo label, I will die!" Ok, so I didn't die, but holy crap it WAS Contempo!!! Some girl who tossed it back in the early 90's doesn't know what she gave up. I think my sweater realized how much she was loved and cherished today.

I'm stoked on my purchases! I got the woven oxfords, sterling silver & turq earrings, an oscar de la renta silk scarf, and a beaded mesh cardigan.

Overall, this weekends thrifting adventure has made me realize how much “stuff” we, as a cognitional, intelligent species, have created subsequently instilling a senseless desire and “need” for the newest, the latest, and greatest. All the while shoving aside the “old” and letting it go to waste. If only we could be satisfied with second had things more often. At least some of the time anyway. Trust me, I know I have a sickness that contributes to waste, so I’m not trying to be hypocritical by saying this, but not only is thrifting good for your pocket, but it’s good for the earth.
